K.I.N.G. reviews every property before it can be considered for placement in our housing network.
Because we receive a high number of housing requests from residents and agency partners throughout Southwest Florida, only properties that meet our program standards are accepted.
Homes that closely match the guidelines below are significantly more likely to be approved for placement.
Submitting a property does not guarantee acceptance into the K.I.N.G. housing program. Properties are selected based on condition, functionality, safety, and suitability for our housing placements.
• Home built in 2001 or newer, or generally no older than 25 years
• Minimum of 3 bedrooms (4 bedrooms preferred)
• Minimum of 2 bathrooms
• All installed appliances should be present and operational
• Major home systems should function as originally designed
• Windows should open and close properly
• Doors, locks, plumbing, lighting, and electrical outlets should all be functional
• Property should be clean, safe, and ready for occupancy
• Homes located in safe, residential neighborhoods are strongly preferred
• Properties should not be subject to HOA restrictions that limit housing program use
• For multi-unit properties, all units must be vacant at the time of evaluation
K.I.N.G. currently focuses on housing placements within the Southwest Florida region, including:
Cape Coral
North Port
Port Charlotte
Before submitting your property, please make sure you are able to provide clear photos of:
• Front exterior of the home
• Living room or main living area
• Kitchen
• All bedrooms
• All bathrooms
Additional photos of outdoor areas, parking, or common areas are helpful during the review process. Provide a 30-second walkthrough video of the property showing main rooms and overall condition.
Due to the volume of housing requests we receive from residents and caseworker agencies, approved properties are added to the K.I.N.G. housing network on a selective basis.
